Day 1: Arrive at Leh
Pickup and drop from the airport to Hotel Nalanda Ladakh. Enjoy a welcome drink of Kashmiri Kahwa and cookies upon arrival. Then a full day to acclimatize yourself to the high altitude of Leh.
Day 2: Leh – Local sightseeing
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and slide on to your tourist shoes, as we take you to a visit to the Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery & Stok Palace Museum. After lunch - Hall of Fame, Kali Mata, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Point and Sangam. Retire your boots for the night and let your body recharge for the next day.
Day 3: Leh-Nubra Valley
After breakfast we leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardung-la pass (alt: 18,380 ft). After descending from the pass, we drive on for sightseeing of Sumoor area. Later check into a fixed camp in the same area or drive across to Deskit for an overnight stay in a camp.
Day 4: Nubra Valley-Leh
In the morning we explore Deskit, Hundar and the Sand Dunes where you can enjoy a short camel safari using the double-humped Bactrian camel found here (optional on direct payment). Later drive back to Leh, reaching in the late afternoon/evening.
Day 5: Leh - Pangong Lake – Leh
Experience a full-day excursion to Pangong Lake (approx. 300kms round trip, located on the Indo-China Border), en-route crossing the Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft.)
Day 6: Leh half day sightseeing
Morning is at leisure. Afternoon visit Sangam (confluence of Indus & Zanskar Rivers), Magnetic Point, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Kali Mata (Temple of Guardians in Spituk monastery) & Hall of Fame. Enjoy the remaining day exploring the markets in Leh, Ladakh. Rest overnight at the hotel, as you pack your bagful of memories to take back home.
