Day 1: Arrive at Leh-Pickup and drop from the airport to Hotel Nalanda Ladakh. Enjoy a welcome drink of Kashmiri Kahwa and cookies upon arrival. Then a full day to acclimatize yourself to the high altitude of Leh.
Day 2: Leh – Local sightseeing-Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and slide on to your tourist shoes, as we take you to a visit to the Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery & Stok Palace Museum. After lunch - Hall of Fame, Kali Mata, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Point and Sangam. Retire your boots for the night and let your body recharge for the next day.
Day 3: Leh-Lamayuru-Uleytoko
In the morning drive down the Indus Valley on a tour of the Lamayuru (approx. 130kms.) circuit, famous for the dramatically located Lamayuru monastery and the adjoining ‘Moonland’ features. After sightseeing and lunch here, retrace the Leh route till Uleytokpo (60kms) and check into a fixed camp/resort for overnight stay.
Day 4: Uleytokpo– Leh
After breakfast drive towards Leh, enroute visiting the 11th century Alchi Choskor, oldest surviving monastic heritage of Ladakh- a UNESCO listed heritage site. Thereafter, visit Sangam (confluence of Indus & Zanskar Rivers), Magnetic Point, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Kali Mata (Temple of Guardians in Spituk monastery) & Hall of Fame. Overnight in hotel.
Day 5: Leh
Free day at Leh for rest. In the afternoon visit Shanti Stupa, Sankar Gompa, Leh Palace & the markets.
Day 6: Leh –Nubra Valley
After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong-la (alt: 18,380ft). After descending from the pass, drive on for sightseeing of Sumoor area and Samstaling Gompa. Later check into a fixed camp in the same area or drive across to Deskit / Hundar for overnight in a fixed camp or hotel.
Day 7: Nubra Valley –Leh
In the morning visit / explore Deskit, Hundar and the Sand Dunes where you can enjoy a short camel safari using the double-humped Bactrian camel found here (optional on direct payment). Later drive back to Leh reaching in the late afternoon/evening. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Day Visit to Pangong Lake and return
Visit Pangong Lake and come back to Leh. Enjoy the remaining day exploring the markets in Leh, Ladakh. Rest overnight at the hotel, as you pack your bagful of memories to take back home.
Day 9: Departure from Leh
